President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a Resolution providing for the conclusion of contracts by the Ministry of Automobile Transport for the design and construction of the road. This was reported by official Turkmen media.

Turkmenistan plans to construct the Ashgabat–Dashoguz highway with a total length of 546 km.

The project also includes the construction of an 812-metre-long road bridge and the modernisation of bridge structures along the route.

The project is being implemented under the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028.
