President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held meetings with the heads of South Korea’s Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. and Japan’s Toyo Engineering Corporation, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in events marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s Independence.

During the meeting with Daewoo E&C President Lee Kang-seok, the parties discussed the development of Turkmen-Korean economic cooperation. The participation of South Korean companies in major projects in Turkmenistan’s gas chemical industry was noted.

During the meeting with Eiji Hosoi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Toyo Engineering Corporation, the role of Japanese companies in implementing projects in Turkmenistan’s gas and chemical industries was highlighted.

The parties confirmed their interest in further developing long-term cooperation.
