“Ojar Aziya”: A Partner for Stability and Integration
Turkmenistan, owing to its status as a Permanent Neutral state, which ensures political reliability and predictability, combined with its unique geographic position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, is emerging as a key transit and logistics hub in the region. This strategic location opens up opportunities for international companies, from large corporations to small and medium enterprises, not only to access the domestic market but also to tap into extensive possibilities across the entire Eurasian continent.
Today, air and road routes, sea, river and dry ports form the modern backbone of the Eurasian Transport Framework (ETF), which unites five international corridors: the Northern, Central and Southern Eurasian corridors, TRACECA, and the North–South Corridor.
With Turkmenistan’s well-developed internal infrastructure, these routes – along with the East–West axis – connect the country to key international transport arteries, ensuring seamless linkages between Asia, Europe and the Middle East. For landlocked states, they provide a reliable gateway to global markets.
These and other strategically important issues were discussed during the 2nd session of the TIF 2025 held in Avaza, titled “New Trends in Construction and Industry of Turkmenistan and Prospects for Mutually Beneficial Cooperation”, as well as the 3rd session: “Development of Reliable Transport and Communication Infrastructure in Turkmenistan. Investment in the Transport and Logistics System”. Participants considered the directions for the development of the transport sector and ways to deepen international cooperation
The scale of and interest in TIF 2025 forum were impressive: more than 800 delegates from 45 countries took part, alongside around 50 official sponsors and partners. Among them, the forum’s General Sponsor, IE «Ojar Aziya» – held a special place, actively supporting the state’s strategic initiatives on economic diversification, the development of construction and transport-logistics systems, as well as the integration of digital technologies.
The company’s forward-looking strategy is based on the recognition that the construction and modernisation of highways, bridges, transport hubs and industrial facilities create new logistical corridors that connect Turkmenistan with neighbouring countries by land, sea and air.
Notable projects of the company include:
- The construction of a 450-kilometre highway along the Sarahs–Mary–Serhetabat (SMS) route, which will provide a direct and high-speed link between key regions of the country, improve logistical flows, and create new opportunities for the transportation of goods and passengers.
- The establishment of a modern warehousing complex in Turgundi (Afghanistan), which will open further prospects for the transit of goods across the region and strengthen Turkmenistan’s role as an important transport and logistics hub of Eurasia.
These initiatives clearly demonstrate that Turkmenistan views infrastructure and investment projects not only as drivers of domestic economic growth, but also as a means of strengthening regional integration and international partnership.
