India is interested in establishing joint ventures with Turkmenistan for the production of fertilisers. This was announced by Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Bandaru Wilsonbabu at an event dedicated to the development of bilateral trade and economic ties.
According to the diplomat, Turkmenistan has become a key destination for Indian fertiliser exports in recent years. The two countries are also exploring prospects for long-term supplies, expanding agricultural trade, introducing modern agricultural technologies and exchanging experience in ensuring food security.
Other promising areas of cooperation include healthcare, pharmaceuticals and energy, particularly biofuel development. The Indian side also expressed its readiness to support medical personnel training and the exchange of professional expertise.
In addition, the ambassador invited representatives of the Turkmen government and business community to participate in the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026, which will take place in New Delhi in early November.
Expanding cooperation in these sectors is expected to strengthen trade ties and create new opportunities for joint investment projects between Turkmenistan and India.
