Turkmenistan, Slovenia Discuss Plans for Joint Business Forum

Turkmenistan and Slovenia have discussed organizing a business forum and related events to enhance bilateral cooperation. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia Melita Gabric on Tuesday, held on the sidelines of the 20th anniversary Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium, the two sides noted substantial potential for cooperation in the chemical and energy industries, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, sports, agriculture, and technology.

The parties also confirmed plans to continue political consultations between their foreign ministries in 2026, to be held in Ljubljana.

Special attention was given to the possibility of high-level contacts and the willingness to organize meetings between the leaders of the two countries. The Turkmen side reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful dialogue and thanked Slovenia for supporting Turkmen initiatives at the United Nations.

Both sides stressed the importance of strengthening the legal and contractual framework of bilateral relations and expressed readiness to sign new agreements to further cooperation.

Byashimova also held talks with Damjan Bergant, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Slovenia. The discussions focused on prospects for deepening bilateral ties and Slovenia’s potential participation in the upcoming high-level international conference on peace and trust-building, scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat.
