Turkmenistan and Malaysia to Expand Cooperation in Science, Transport and Education
Turkmenistan and Malaysia have signed a package of bilateral documents following the official visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Ashgabat. The signing and exchange ceremony took place after talks between the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the head of the Malaysian government.
Among the documents exchanged by the parties were:
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Academy of Sciences of Malaysia;
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Türkmenhowaýollary State Service and the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia;
An Air Services Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Malaysia;
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Malaysia on the training of diplomats and cooperation in scientific exchange.
The following signed documents were also announced:
An Agreement between the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan and Universiti Tenaga Nasional on student exchange and mobility programs;
An Agreement between the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and Universiti Tenaga Nasional on student exchange and mobility programs;
An Agreement between the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and Universiti Tenaga Nasional on student exchange and mobility programs.
The ceremony concluded with the signing of a Joint Statement by Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Anwar Ibrahim following the visit.
The document records the results of negotiations on bilateral, regional, and international issues and confirms the commitment of both sides to the further development of interstate cooperation.
