According Afghan Voice Agency, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan talks are underway in Herat on the development of transport and logistics cooperation, the facilitation of freight transportation and the reduction of administrative barriers. The sides are also considering measures to accelerate cross-border transportation and expand regional trade.

Particular attention is being paid to the development of the Lapis Lazuli Corridor, the Turkmenistan–Herat railway route and border infrastructure. The implementation of these projects will create additional opportunities for businesses, facilitate the expansion of trade flows and support investment projects in the transport and logistics sector.
