Turkmenistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan have launched a new test route.
Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan have jointly launched a test route China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Azerbaijan (Baku) to strengthen transport cooperation and expand international logistics connectivity.
The project is being implemented through the cooperation of JSC “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” (TULM), JSC “O’ztemiryo’lkonteyner”, and Alliance Multimodal (Azerbaijan), TULM reported.
As part of the pilot phase, four 40-foot containers were dispatched from China toward Azerbaijan.
At present, the containers have arrived at Osh Station in the Kyrgyz Republic, where documentation and preparations for further railway transportation through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and across the Caspian Sea toward Azerbaijan are underway.
According to the agreements reached, the transit time from Osh to Baku is 12 calendar days.
The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) represents an important alternative to traditional logistics corridors, connecting China with Europe through Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus, and Turkey.
