Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan Cargo Flow Tops 1 Million Tons

In the first half of this year, the transit of goods between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan surpassed 1 million tons, as announced during the 8th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation, held on Monday in Baku.

The trade turnover between the two countries for the previous year amounted to over 2 million tons, demonstrating stable growth in bilateral partnership.

During the meeting priority areas for bilateral cooperation were identified, including trade, energy, industrial parks, transport, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and the Alat Free Economic Zone.

Participants were presented with information on the business environment and investment climate, opportunities in transport and logistics infrastructure, and the prospects of the Zangezur Corridor. The importance of expanding connections between business circles was emphasized, and Turkmen investors were encouraged to engage in active cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a protocol was signed to deepen bilateral cooperation in the economic, trade, energy, transport, and agricultural sectors.

During the session participants also discussed opportunities for developing partnerships and mutual investments in the key sectors of the economy.
