Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov held an important meeting in Islamabad with Shaheryar Memon, who was recently appointed as Coordinator for Foreign Relations, Business and Trade Contacts under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program of Pakistan.

The meeting, which took place at the Embassy of Turkmenistan, was dedicated to exploring new ways to strengthen trade and economic relations and expand partnership between the two countries. Ambassador Movlamov presented to the Pakistani side the key directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, emphasizing its reliance on the principles of neutrality and mutually beneficial cooperation.

A key topic of discussion was the development of energy ties and the implementation of strategic projects of critical importance for regional integration and energy security. The Ambassador provided information on the progress of the construction of the TAP (Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan) power transmission line.

Special attention was given to Turkmenistan’s innovative achievements. The parties discussed the construction of the environmentally sustainable and innovative city of Arkadag, positioned as a model of “smart” urban development in the region.

In addition to energy and economic cooperation, the parties also considered opportunities to expand interaction in cultural and educational programs. It was noted that the active expansion of partnership in these areas opens solid prospects for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between Ashgabat and Islamabad.
