On September 3–4, 2026 the forum “Tourism Potential of the Moscow Region: Discovering New Routes” was held at the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The event was organized by the Moscow Region Foreign Economic Activity Support Foundation.

The forum brought together representatives of the tourism industry and business, as well as international delegations from Oman, Qatar, Iran, Vietnam, Indonesia, Serbia, Turkmenistan and other countries. The main focus of the forum was the development of the Moscow Region’s tourism potential, international cooperation, and new opportunities for investment and business partnerships.

Participants were presented with the region’s key tourism areas, including ethno tourism, traditional crafts, active recreation, premium accommodation, sports tourism and medical tourism. Particular attention was paid to industrial and business tourism as tools for economic development and attracting international partners.

The Moscow Region has significant potential for business cooperation. The region is home to approximately 1,500 large and medium-sized industrial enterprises, 72 industrial parks and six special economic zones, as well as eight of Russia’s 13 science cities.

On September 4, the forum will continue with a reverse business mission in Istra, during which companies from the Moscow Region will hold direct B2B negotiations with international companies. This format enables participants to move from presenting opportunities to discussing specific projects and potential business deals.

For Turkmenistan, the development of international cooperation in tourism is of particular importance — both for promoting the country’s tourism potential and for attracting investment, developing infrastructure and expanding business ties with Russian regions.
