President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Kenji Yamada, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit.

During the meeting, it was noted that the friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and Japan have been consistently developing on the basis of the principles of mutual respect, equality and trust. Bilateral ties are multifaceted and encompass the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that high-level visits undertaken in recent years have contributed to bringing bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

Trade and economic cooperation represents an important component of Turkmenistan-Japan relations, which are dynamically expanding in line with the national interests of the two countries, based on shared strategic objectives and cooperation in the fields of high technology and investment.

Noting that Turkmenistan highly values Japan’s extensive experience in innovative technologies and advanced engineering solutions, the President emphasized the favorable conditions and opportunities for developing mutually beneficial partnership. He also expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and industry.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Japan’s State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Kenji Yamada expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly Turkmenistan-Japan relations and effective cooperation would continue to develop in the interests of the two countries and their peoples, TDH reports.
