President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov spoke at the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, where he presented a number of international initiatives.

The head of state put forward the initiative "Global Medicine of the Future - Solidarity and Cooperation", which envisages the creation of systemic mechanisms for international medical diplomacy under the auspices of the UN. The President noted that the lack of access to the sea creates serious obstacles to the timely provision of medical care and the supply of medicines.

In the energy sector, Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed creating a global program for the transition to hydrogen energy for the period 2030-2040. Turkmenistan expressed its readiness to participate in the development of hydrogen energy and proposed to begin discussing the modality of such a program in the UN from 2026.

The President also presented a proposal for the formation of a global framework for the transition to a circular economy, emphasizing the need to link economic activity with environmental standards.

Particular attention in the speech was paid to the environmental problems of the Caspian Sea. The head of state recalled the Caspian Environmental Initiative put forward by Turkmenistan at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly and emphasized the need to address the problem of shallowing of the sea.

Turkmenistan reaffirmed its position on equal and fair access to water resources, based on compliance with international law and mutual consideration of the interests of all parties.
