
President of Turkmenistan Meets Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for South, Central, and West Asia, Shixin Chen, who arrived in the country on an official visit. This was reported by Turkmenistan’s official media on Monday.
The head of state warmly welcomed the guest and expressed confidence that the meetings scheduled during the visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral economic cooperation. He also wished for successful and productive negotiations.
President Berdimuhamedov recalled the Memorandum of Understanding signed in May this year between the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan and the Asian Development Bank. According to him, the document should give a significant impetus to the development of the partnership.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also emphasized the importance of enhancing financial, credit, and consulting services to support small and medium-sized enterprises. He highlighted the significance of ADB’s cooperation with Turkmen banks in promoting private sector development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation with this major international financial institution and wished Shixin Chen success in his work.
