Turkmenistan has completed the modernization of the Sarakhs Avtoyollary customs checkpoint on the country's border with Iran. The upgrade included the renovation of buildings and infrastructure, as well as the installation of a digital management system for monitoring and recording the movement of vehicles and goods.
The modernization was made by "Ojar Aziya" company and designed to increase the checkpoint's processing capacity and forms part of Turkmenistan's broader program to upgrade border infrastructure, strengthen international transport corridors, and enhance the country's transit potential.
Earlier this year, the Garabogaz and Artyk customs checkpoints were also reopened following comprehensive modernization under the same program.
