Hero-Arkadag’s Working Visit to Balkan: Focus on International Forums and Avaza

The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, paid a working visit to the Balkan velayat, where he reviewed preparations for major international events scheduled for 2026. Particular attention was given to facilities on the Caspian coast and in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, which is increasingly positioning itself as a leading venue for international forums and exhibitions. Hero-Arkadag stressed the importance of ensuring full compliance with high international standards, the active use of digital technologies, and close coordination among all responsible institutions.

During an aerial inspection of Avaza and key infrastructure sites, issues related to transport and logistics, environmental protection, industry, and energy were also examined. The strategic role of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the Garabogazkarbamid plant in strengthening the country’s export potential was highlighted. The visit confirmed that the Balkan velayat and the Caspian coastal area remain vital centres for economic growth, international cooperation, and the sustainable development of Turkmenistan.
