On July 29–30, 2026 a delegation from the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan participated in the CAREC Digital Corridor Consultative Meeting held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The event was organized within the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program to advance regional digital connectivity and digital infrastructure development.

The meeting brought together delegations from nine CAREC member countries, along with representatives of government agencies, telecommunications operators, regulatory authorities, international organizations, development partners, and ICT industry experts. Discussions focused on strengthening regional digital infrastructure, enhancing cross-border digital connectivity, and promoting joint initiatives to accelerate the digital economy across the CAREC region.

During the meeting, the Turkmen delegation presented the country's ongoing efforts to modernize its telecommunications infrastructure, expand digital government services, and implement advanced digital transformation initiatives across multiple sectors, including healthcare.

Participants also discussed the next steps in developing the CAREC Digital Corridor, a strategic initiative aimed at improving regional digital infrastructure, increasing international data exchange capacity, supporting cross-border digital services, and fostering deeper digital integration among CAREC member countries.
