Container Transit via Turkmenistan Exceeds 21,000 Units

In 2025, a total of 21,320 container shipments were carried through the territory of Turkmenistan, representing an increase of 10,200 containers compared with the previous year. Of this total, 10,470 were transit shipments, 6,450 exports and 4,400 imports.
The growth was driven by the active use of the international transport corridors North–South, Lapis Lazuli and East–West, as well as multimodal routes linking Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Europe. During the reporting period, 74 container trains operated along these key routes, underlining Turkmenistan’s strengthening role as a regional transit hub.
