CIS Railway Council Meeting to Be Held in Turkmenistan

In June 2026, Turkmenistan will host the 84th meeting of the CIS Council for Railway Transport, Deputy Minister of Railway Transport Silapberdy Nurberdyev announced at the SPECA Economic Forum in Ashgabat.
He highlighted Turkmenistan’s growing role as a transport and logistics hub and its openness to developing international corridors, including the Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan–Iran–Oman route and the Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran railway as a key segment of the North–South International Transport Corridor, providing access to Persian Gulf ports and new markets.
