Turkmenistan is taking an active part in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT-2025), held in Barcelona from September 29 to October 1. The delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Myakhri Byashimova, is at the center of the global dialogue aimed at integrating culture into the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
MONDIACULT-2025 is the leading global platform that brings together representatives of more than 160 countries to define the strategic directions of cultural policy for the coming decades.
The conference addresses the most pressing issues, ranging from digital transformation and the development of creative industries to the role of artificial intelligence in the cultural sphere and the preservation of heritage in the context of climate change.
Speaking at the thematic session “Culture and Peace | Culture and Education”, Myakhri Byashimova emphasized that the policy of the Government of Turkmenistan is aimed not only at preserving and promoting the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage, but also at actively advancing cultural diplomacy on the global stage.
“Turkmenistan demonstrates a strong commitment to the principles and ideals of UNESCO, which is reflected in its active participation in the implementation of key programs that contribute to the development of international humanitarian cooperation,” she noted.
The participation of the Turkmen delegation in MONDIACULT-2025 made a significant contribution to shaping the global cultural agenda, reaffirming that Turkmenistan views culture as a powerful driver of peace, dialogue, and sustainable development.
