Ashgabat, Yerevan Explore Opening of Mutual Trade Houses

Turkmenistan and Armenia have discussed the potential establishment of Trade Houses in Ashgabat and Yerevan. The issue was addressed during a meeting on Tuesday in Ashgabat between Mergen Gurdov, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan (CCIT), and Arsen Avagyan, Armenia’s ambassador to Turkmenistan.

According to the CCIT, the initiative aims to strengthen business ties, expand trade turnover, and facilitate access for national producers to foreign markets.

Participants in the meeting highly valued the current level of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and expressed interest in its expansion.

The talks also covered ways to enhance contacts between the business communities of both states, measures to increase bilateral trade, and the development of entrepreneurial activity.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to continue efforts to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

In 2024, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Armenia reached $22 million.
