President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave a symbolic opening ceremony live via teleconference.
The event coincides with Turkmenistan's Construction and Industrial Workers' Day, celebrated annually on November 3.
The new automobile bridge across Garabogaz Bay in the Caspian Sea is 354 meters long, 21 meters wide and 7 meters above sea level. The two-lane road is designed to accommodate vehicles with a carrying capacity of 40-50 tons.
The bridge is part of a transport route connecting Turkmenistan's highways and the Turkmenbashi International Seaport with the border with Kazakhstan.
Experts estimate that the opening of this bridge will significantly increase traffic volumes and trade between Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and countries using transport corridors across the Caspian Sea, including Russia, Iran and India.
The project's implementation will have a positive impact on improving the population's standard of living and developing the country's transport and logistics infrastructure.
