Total investment in 2024 reached $12.1 billion, including $1.4 billion in foreign direct investment. Priority sectors included the oil and gas industry, petrochemicals, energy, and construction.
Turkmenistan’s foreign trade turnover totaled $19.8 billion, with exports accounting for $12.1 billion and imports for $7.7 billion—demonstrating the country’s growing engagement in international trade.
Astanagulov noted that further economic development will rely on expanding digital infrastructure, strengthening public-private partnerships, and implementing a circular economic model, which will create a foundation for long-term sustainable growth.
