Turkmenistan launches long-term strategies: finance, digitalization and cultural diplomacy until 2052 Türkmenistan habarlar portaly

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a package of ambitious long-term strategies was approved aimed at modernizing the economy, implementing digital technologies and strengthening international cultural influence.

Specifically, key documents were adopted that define the development of the country in the coming years:

  • ‘Strategy for the Development of the Financial Market until 2030’: The main goals are to modernize the institutional structure and legislative framework of the financial market in line with international standards, increase investment and improve the national insurance market.

  • ‘Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan in 2026–2028’: The document focuses on the development of digital infrastructure, the implementation of the e-government system, digital education, medicine and financial technologies, as well as attracting investment.

In addition, measures were approved to modernize the technological systems of the oil refineries of the State Concern ‘Türkmennebit’, including the Turkmenbashi Complex, to improve the quality of fuel and lubricants.

The foreign policy and humanitarian vectors also received a powerful strategic boost:

  • ‘Strategy for the Development of Cultural Diplomacy of Turkmenistan for 2026–2052’: This long-term initiative aims to promote international recognition of the national cultural heritage, traditions and customs, as well as to enhance the role of culture in strengthening friendship between peoples.

  • ‘Regulations on the Permanent Missions of Turkmenistan to International Organizations’ were approved. This document aims to strengthen the legal framework for cooperation with the UN, the OSCE and other global organizations, of which Turkmenistan is a member of 54.

These decisions underscore commitment of Turkmenistan to systemic development based on international experience and digital technologies.
