Turkmenistan’s private sector increases investment in construction

The members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan will channel investments into a number of major projects in 2026.

In Ashgabat, the construction of two-storey shopping centres is planned in the Gurtly residential area, along with retail and service complexes in Parahat-7. In the Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal welaýat, work will begin on a textile factory covering an area of 11 hectares.

In the agro-industrial sector, priorities include the establishment of new livestock and poultry farms, the expansion of greenhouse facilities, and the planting of orchards and vegetable plantations using water-saving technologies.

According to the Programme for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments for 2026, the share of the private sector in GDP is expected to increase to 72.9 per cent, excluding the fuel a nd energy sector. In addition, 5,245 new jobs are expected to be created through the construction of new facilities and the modernisation of existing production capacities.
