29.12.25

The United Nations General Assembly has unanimously adopted two resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan: “The pivotal role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in driving sustainable development” and “United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026–2035)”. The decision reflects strong international confidence in Turkmenistan’s proposals and highlights the country’s contribution to shaping the global sustainable development agenda.

Speaking at an expanded meeting of the Government and the State Security Council, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov described the adoption of the resolutions as a major foreign policy achievement. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked all UN Member States for their unanimous support and reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening effective cooperation with the United Nations. The resolutions were adopted in the year marking the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality, a period characterised by steady economic growth and active legislative development.
