Turkmenistan Offers the Fastest Customs Procedures in CA
A new GIZ study shows that Turkmenistan leads the region in the speed of export and transit operations. At the Garabogaz, Farap and Dashoguz road checkpoints, the average customs clearance time was just 37 minutes – the best result in Central Asia.
For comparison:
Kazakhstan – around 1 hour 30 minutes
Tajikistan –1 hour 40 minutes
Kyrgyzstan –1 hour 44 minutes
Uzbekistan –1 hour 10 minutes
Border queues were equally efficient: the average waiting time did not exceed 35 minutes. Elsewhere in the region, the figures were significantly higher:
Kazakhstan – more than two days
Tajikistan – 1 hour 15 minutes
Kyrgyzstan – 40 minutes
Uzbekistan – 12 hours 20 minutes
According to GIZ, Turkmenistan is consolidating its position as a reliable and efficient transit route between Asia and Europe, supported by modern infrastructure, “green corridors”, and expanding digital customs services.
