Turkmenistan Declares the National Motto and Emblem for 2026

urkmenistan has officially declared 2026 the year of “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”, in accordance with a Resolution adopted by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. The decision was announced at a Government meeting on 26 December, where Chairperson of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported that the motto had been approved on the basis of proposals submitted by representatives of the people, major public organisations, labour collectives and citizens. At the same meeting, the emblem of the forthcoming year was presented to the President of Turkmenistan.

Addressing the participants, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the annual proclamation of a national motto and the approval of its emblem reflect the country’s commitment to naming each new stage of development in a modern spirit while remaining faithful to national values. He noted that the proposals for the motto and emblem had been jointly prepared by members of the Mejlis together with the people. Having endorsed these initiatives, the Head of State officially approved the motto of 2026 as “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses.”

In this connection, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sent a congratulatory message to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The message underlined that the new year is being welcomed amid a high level of spiritual uplift and tangible labour achievements, and conveyed wishes for good health and continued success in large-scale initiatives aimed at ensuring the prosperity of Turkmenistan and further strengthening the international authority of the permanently neutral state.
