Turkmenistan Approves Silk Cocoon Production Plan for 2026

During an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on 13 February and dedicated to reviewing the country’s socio-economic results for 2025, the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree approving the annual silk cocoon production plan for 2026. 

According to the document, the State Concern "Türkmenpagta", together with the regional administrations, has been tasked with ensuring the production of 2,100 tonnes of silk cocoons in 2026.

Within the framework of the assigned tasks, the State Concern is instructed to conclude general agreements with the regional administrations on cocoon production and to provide farmers — including daykhan associations, agricultural enterprises, private farms, tenants and landowners — with the required volume of high-quality silkworm eggs.
