Turkmenistan and Georgia Discuss Expansion of Economic Co-operation

On 30 March 2026, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nökerguly Atagulyýew, met with Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili. The discussions focused on the present state of bilateral economic ties and the considerable prospects for their further advancement.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, particular emphasis was placed on broadening trade and economic co-operation, promoting reciprocal investment, and implementing joint initiatives in priority sectors.

Both sides expressed a strong interest in enhancing collaboration in energy, transport, the digital economy, and innovation. They also highlighted the importance of creating favourable conditions for establishing direct links between the business communities of Turkmenistan and Georgia.

The significant role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on Economic Co-operation was especially underlined in terms of co-ordinating bilateral partnership, facilitating systematic dialogue between relevant sectors, and ensuring the practical implementation of the agreements reached. At the close of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen bilateral co-operation and to continue their constructive dialogue.
