Trans-Caspian Corridor Set to Transform Eurasian Trade
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Caleb Orr stated that the Middle Corridor, also known as the Trans-Caspian trade route, could significantly transform trade across Eurasia, provided there are investments in infrastructure and streamlined customs procedures.
According to his speech, the route passing through Central Asian countries, the Caspian Sea, and the Caucasus provides a direct link between the region and U.S. and European markets, enhancing the resilience of supply chains and ensuring the secure movement of goods, information, and energy resources.
The development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor was highlighted as a priority at the C5+1 summit in November 2025, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and logistical resilience.
The Middle Corridor is seen as an alternative to traditional northern and southern routes, offering a shorter and more diversified delivery path between Asia and Europe.
