On 5 March, the 14th dialogue in the “Central Asia + Japan” format took place in Tokyo, focusing on the preservation of traditional culture and its role in economic development. The meeting brought together representatives from Japan and the Central Asian countries — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The symposium was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Global Forum of Japan and the Japan Forum on International Relations. Participants discussed ways to preserve cultural heritage and utilise it for industrial development, international cooperation and cultural exchange.
During the dialogue, experts presented national projects and initiatives aimed at developing traditional crafts and promoting the cultures of Central Asian countries on the international stage.

The forum continued cooperation within the “Central Asia + Japan” initiative and the agreements outlined in the Tokyo Declaration. According to Japanese representatives, cultural exchange remains an important element in strengthening partnership between Japan and the countries of Central Asia.
