New Branch of the Foundation and International Partnership in the Interests of Children

10.12.25

A significant event took place in the National Tourist Zone of Awaza – the opening of a new branch of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The new centre will serve as a platform for coordinating charitable initiatives, conducting cultural programmes, and providing medical consultations for children requiring long-term treatment and rehabilitation. The ceremony was attended by foreign delegations, as well as representatives of public and academic circles, underscoring the international interest in the foundation’s work.

On the same day, another important event was held in Awaza: the Charitable Foundation named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation (Azerbaijan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. During the meeting, the Vice Presidents of the two organisations, Ms Oguljahan Atabayeva and Ms Leyla Aliyeva, discussed the development of cooperation in the field of child health protection, the exchange of experience, and the expansion of humanitarian programmes. Both sides emphasised that such initiatives strengthen the cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

The opening of the new branch and the signing of the memorandum have become vivid examples of Turkmenistan’s expanding international partnership in the International Year of Peace and Trust. The ongoing work of the Charitable Foundation, which has funded hundreds of complex medical operations and implemented humanitarian projects both within the country and abroad, continues to reinforce its role in supporting children and promoting humanitarian cooperation across the region.
