International Forum IFT 2026 – A Key Platform for Investment Cooperation
The International Investment Forum “Investments in the Future of Turkmenistan” (IFT 2026), held on 18 March 2026 in Ashgabat at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, reaffirmed its role as an effective platform for private sector development, investment attraction, and the strengthening of international business cooperation.
The Forum brought together representatives of government institutions, the business community, and international organisations, creating an environment for constructive dialogue and exchange of expertise. The event welcomed delegates from 16 countries, including representatives of 56 foreign companies and 13 international organisations and diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan.
From the national side, the Forum featured 33 local companies, 56 representatives of the private sector, and 110 representatives of government institutions. This diverse and balanced participation ensured effective interaction between the state and business sectors.
The Forum’s programme was highly practice-oriented and included one plenary session and four thematic sessions focusing on key areas of economic development, investment policy, and private sector growth. Particular emphasis was placed on business engagement: 35 B2G meetings and 8 B2B meetings were held, alongside additional negotiations during the business luncheon.
As a result of the Forum, 9 Memoranda of Understanding were signed, marking a transition from dialogue to concrete joint projects and investment initiatives.
Despite certain organisational challenges related to international participation, including visa and logistical matters, the Forum ensured the attendance of foreign delegates and the successful implementation of the planned programme.
Sponsors and partners played a crucial role in the organisation of the Forum. The General Sponsors were Ojar Aziýa (private enterprise) and Aýdyň Gijeler (business entity), while the Gold Sponsors included Dost gurluşyk, söwda, önümçilik and NATCO. Their support significantly contributed to maintaining a high standard of the event and expanding its business opportunities.
IFT 2026 once again demonstrated that Turkmenistan’s private sector is a key driver of economic growth. The Forum proved to be an effective platform for establishing international business connections, promoting investment projects, expanding export potential, and advancing public–private partnerships.
The successful delivery of the Forum strengthened Turkmenistan’s position as an attractive destination for investment and laid the foundation for further expansion of international economic cooperation.
