First Summit Of Korea And Central Asia

The first-ever high-level summit between the Republic of Korea and the Central Asian states will take place on 16–17 September 2026. The dates were announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Cho Hyun during a preparatory meeting held in Seoul.

According to the Foreign Minister, the upcoming summit will mark an important milestone in expanding the diplomatic outreach of the Republic of Korea and strengthening its partnerships with Central Asian nations.

He emphasised that the summit format will contribute to deepening both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, while laying the groundwork for collaboration in supply chain diversification and enhancing support mechanisms for ethnic Korean communities residing in the region.
