A New Phase in Cooperation on the Sustainable Development Goals

Turkmenistan has launched the fourth phase of the joint project between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Finance and Economy titled “Partnership for Accelerating the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.

The new phase aims to strengthen national capacity for the implementation and monitoring of the SDGs, as well as to support preparations for Turkmenistan’s third Voluntary National Review. Particular focus will be placed on development financing mechanisms and enhancing the role of local authorities in integrating sustainable development principles at the regional level.

UNDP representatives noted that the continued partnership will further promote sustainable socio-economic development and improve coordination among government institutions, international partners and civil society.
